Statement of Faith
1. We believe both Old and New Testament are inspired by God alone. These scriptures are inerrant and unchanging in what they affirm and are our final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. Mark 12:26, 36 Acts 1:16 Timothy 3:16 II Peter 1:21
2. We believe in the One Living God, existing as three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in glory and power. Matthew 28:19, 20 Mark 12:29 John 1:1-4, 14 II Corinthians 13:14 Hebrews 1:1-3
3. We believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God. Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He was sinless in act and thought. He paid fully the penalty for the sin of man when He died on the cross. He arose from the grave and ascended into heaven where He now intercedes for His own. Matthew 16:15-17 I John 3:8
4. We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. At conversion He regenerates, indwells, seals and baptizes the believer into the boy of Christ. The Holy Spirit fills and conforms the yielding believer increasingly to the image of Christ. He enables the believer to live a life of Christian victory through faith in Jesus Christ and obedience to the Word of God. As He wills, the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts and empowerment for spiritual service. John 7:38, 39 John 14:16, 17, 26 Acts 2:38 Romans 8:9 Romans 8:26, 27 Ephesians 6:17, 18
5. We believe man was created in the image of God. In Adam he fell because of disobedience and rebellion against God and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God. As a consequence, all mankind is declared, by God, to be totally depraved, having inherited a sinful nature and having become sinners in thought, word and deed. Genesis 1:26 Genesis 2:7,8 Isaiah 64:6,7 Psalm 51:1-5 Ephesians 2:1-3
6. We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and in the judgment and eternal consciousness of the unbelievers. Luke 17:34, 35 I Thessalonians 4:13-18 Titus 2:13
7. We believe that salvation has been provided by the grace of God through the substitutionary death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that it must be personally appropriated by the sinner through conversion consisting of repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in justification by faith, the new birth and that the one who is justified and born again is absolved of all guilt through remission of sins and so shall never come into condemnation but is passed from death unto life. Luke 10:20 Luke 19:8,9 Acts 16:31 Romans 8:33-39 I Corinthians 5:17-19 Ephesians 2:8,9
8. We believe that salvation is not only a gift from the Lord but also is sustained by the Lord. Therefore, since salvation is wholly of the Lord, apart from the works of man, we hold that the believer shall be kept by the power of God through faith unto eternal salvation. Luke 10:20 John 6:47 John 10:29 Romans 8:16, 33-39 I Corinthians 5:17-1`9 Ephesians 2:8,9 II Timothy 1:12 I Peter 1:5 I John 5:13
